From a parking garage to an indoor skateboard park, local children have ideas for the redevelopment of the Sanford mills.
Mill owner Eric Stone led the children up six flights of stairs to the top of the building, where he explained how the mills could be restored and play an important role in the growth of Sanford.
Stone purchased the mill building with the vision of a Quincy Market theme in mind. After touring the mill, the children drew pictures of their ideas, which will be displayed at the town hall.

So what would you do if you had a million bucks to transform the downtown mills? Third-graders for Lafeyette School were eager to give their ideas after touring Stone & Stone's Millstone Place.
Eric Stone, who bought the mill two years ago, led the students to the expansive top floor of the 6-story mill so that they could envision its future and get a birds-eye view of their hometown. Students floated their ideas for redevelopment, including transforming the mill into a homeless shelter, hospital, day care center, or restaurant.
